Search Underway For Teen Who Went Overboard in New Brunswick

A search is underway for a missing 15-year-old boy who went overboard while in a 45-foot fishing vessel off the waters of Pointe-Sapin, New Brunswick.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Halifax is leading the search effort.

Lieutenant Commander Len Hickey says the call for help came in just before 10 a.m. on Monday.

Hickey says area fishermen put out a mayday after they were unable to find the teenager.

A Cormorant helicopter, three coast guard vessels and an aircraft are all part of the search effort.

Hickey says the search area now covers 25 square nautical miles.
